Ealing Half Marathon 29th September
As in previous years, the St. Mary's community will be supporting the Ealing Half Marathon by cheering on the runners and providing much-needed hydration at our water station. In addition, we have the inaugural appearance of the St. Mary's Half Marathon Runners! Dan, Daniel, Lilian, Lionel, Nadia, Rob Susy and Alison will be taking part in the race, ably supported by Nick, to raise money for the Ealing Churches Winter Night Shelter.
Ealing has the 4th highest level of rough sleepers across London, with 563 people reported to be sleeping rough on Ealing’s streets last year. The team is running to raise money to tackle this huge issue in Ealing. Volunteers from St. Mary's and other churches in the area support the Shelter, which is the only organisation in Ealing that provides emergency night shelter over the five winter months.
Every contribution to the Night Shelter will make a huge difference, enabling it to keep running next year and to employ a support worker, helping guests to find permanent accommodation and access employability support.
